Joanne Hillestad of The Fat Quarter Gypsy has rustled up some veggies to create her sugar skull “Farmer Mary”. With a carrot nose and a watermelon mouth, this is a delicious addition to the Fiesta de Azucar 2017 quilt project.
Jo has also created a popular line of “Pop-Ups”. These are collapsible fabric baskets of many styles and sizes, useful for everything from holding pencils, to holding laundry. She’s even turned her sugar skull pattern into a Pop-Up!
Click on the “Fiesta de Azucar” link on the menu bar to learn more about this quilt project, and to see a schedule of block postings (Next week, July 15, is a block that involves candy). Also, check out our Facebook page, Fiesta de Azucar 2017. Stitch up one of our blocks and post it on our FB page. On October 30, there will be prizes!
